Today in Dee's class we did a  quiz on different file types.
We then ha d a group meeting about the magazine and my role in creating the magazine is to put the portraits into the mag and to creat   a fun page.

Today we planned and filmed parts of our film, it was great fun.

Evaluation.

Today i have evaluated Jodie's Epk, i thought it was lovely, it gets attention straight  off it was very well done, easy to navigate it was very inviting and visually attractive i gave Jodie's Epk 58/60.

Html Activity 4/10/2010

Today we learnt about HTML codes, Html Stands for: Hyper Text Mark-Up Language.
We went to the website ( www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_basic ) And two boxes come up on this page one is your working area the other is a  viewing area so you can see what you have done and check that it is what you wanted/intended.

Tuesday 28/9/2010 dee's class.

This is a video i put into my epk project.
i obtained this video by opening FireFox, and going into tools and downloading 'video downloadhelper' then we downloaded a video from YouTube and downloaded Mpeg Stream clip and Perian 1.2.1 then we opened our epk projects and went into create a  new web page and added movie template and then opened media and selected the video tab. and dragged it into the web page. i then took   a screen short and added it into this blog :)

This is the second picture i am uploading, i created this using  a filter tool it is called Grain, i liked this effect and i thought i would use it as i feel it adds to the original picture.

Today we learnt more about Photoshop and this is the first  picture i have uploaded..
To make a web page you have to change the preset setting (800x 600).
.Psd is what photoshop originally saves pictures in-order to save them on here you have to change that setting to .Jpeg. To make this photo we used a pen to mark out the position of the head before uploading this is called a clipping path.

There was a time split with learning the terms and conditions of the college with filling in forms clarifying that we agree to them i found this really interesting and informing of information which i may need in the future.


My next class was at:

14.00-16.00 Web content

This was our first class as students at forth valley college (Falkirk campus)

i found it really fun (except the technical failure!)





My second day of college:

Started at: 9.00am- 11.00am We started today with a Media Analysis class where we were asked to interview a fellow student which led us into our next class: Communication where we wrote up the beginning to our biography's (11.00am-13.00pm) This was a really enjoyable morning as not only did we learn things we got the opportunity to have a laugh.

We then got our lunch break and started our Digital Media Class, which was really great today i feel i have learnt a lot and stretched my knowledge of what i already know about computing out.

27th Aug 2010.

Today.

It was our introduction class into Media Productions{ John Mcall}, we learnt about Garage Band and Podcasts.
 Sadly i did not get to start mine as (knowing my luck so far with computors...) i picked the broken one ! Wooo.
 However i am working on my music choice and picture choice currently - giving both serious thought.

College is exactly how i imagened it to be, amazing. [ However i am glad it is the weekend! SLEEP.]

Digital Media Class 24/08/2010

This was our introductory class on this subject, however I have been in this room a few times before firstly for my enrolment secondly for a class on 'Web Content'.


The first thing we did in our class today was upload the photos we took yesterday to our blogger accounts (We took these photos in our Web content class using 'Photobooth'). 'Photobooth' is a application on Apple Mac computers which allows you to take a picture instantly and upload it to multiple places, it is a form of webcam.

Then we learnt how to change the background of our blogs (In the 'Design' tab), I found this particularly interesting because I like doing collage work and found some of the backgrounds on here to be not unlike cut-outs.



We were then taught how to re-name our folders which we also created yesterday in web content, we then continued to take some silly photos for putting into'Iphoto' (An application found on Apple Mac computers)



We were also taught how to catch media files off of the Internet and carry them to the monitor screen using a grab technique (which you perform by holding the 'Apple' button down alongside 'Shift' and '4' this creates a small target shaped icon and you drag the cursor over the picture and if you have the volume turned up will make a small noise and the picture will be on the right hand side of the screen when you minimize your pages which you currently have up).


We Started learning about 'Iweb' and 'Epk's' but these lessons will be continued next week.


I really enjoyed this class, a lot to think about, and look forward to future lessons
